The course first teaches the inspection of electrical equipment - this is done prior to any testing and ensures the safety of the person doing the testing; then moves into the testing of equipment and includes the correct use of a PAT (Portable Appliances Tester). It is important to note that PATs are easy to use and therefore to teach someone to use one is not difficult.
